Autumn
The chill in the air makes me shiver
Going outside feelin’ like Gulliver
The whistling wind sways dead leaves
My skin feels the clutch of the cool breeze
What once were petals pink and green
Are now crumpled dead and unseen
The sun shines less and less
Putting my sanity to test
Candles are continuously lit
That light will never quit
Children chatter and walk to school
Summer ending feels so cruel
Every day I consume pumpkin spice
Starting my day with a little prize
Gourds replenish my soul
Trader Joes sauce jars are being pulled
The freaks and weirdos emerge on Halloween
We watch the victories of the scream queens
Decided to write a poem about my second favorite season 🧡 Also… y’all should listen to this song by my favorite band, Xmal Deutschland: https://youtu.be/4HuRCV829vA?si=rrmpI8KdrBeRHz29
